Cherry Vanilla Vampire Poke Cake ๐Ÿฉธ๐Ÿ’

This spooky yet delicious poke cake combines cherry and vanilla flavors with a “bloody” twist—perfect for Halloween! A moist vanilla cake filled with cherry sauce oozing through the holes makes this dessert as eerie as it is tasty.
Ingredients:

For the Cake:

1 box vanilla cake mix (plus ingredients listed on the box)
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the "Blood" Cherry Filling:

1 can cherry pie filling (or 1 ½ cups homemade cherry sauce)
2 tablespoons cherry or strawberry syrup (for extra color)

For the Whipped Topping:

2 cups heavy cream (or 1 tub whipped topping)
    3 tablespoons powdered sugar
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Optional Garnish:

    Red gel icing (for drizzling)
Maraschino cherries or edible vampire fangs for decoration

Instructions:

    Prepare the Cake:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Prepare the vanilla cake mix according to package instructions, adding the vanilla extract for extra flavor.
Pour the batter into the prepared dish and bake according to package instructions, usually about 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Let the cake cool for 10 minutes.

    Poke the Cake:
Using the handle of a wooden spoon, poke holes all over the surface of the cake, spacing them about 1 inch apart. Make sure the holes go deep to absorb the filling.

    Make the "Blood" Cherry Filling:
In a bowl, stir the cherry pie filling with the cherry or strawberry syrup to enhance the color.
Spoon the cherry filling evenly over the cake, making sure some sauce seeps into the holes.

    Chill the Cake:
Cover the cake and place it in the fridge for at least 1 hour to allow the cherry filling to soak in.

    Prepare the Whipped Topping:
In a chilled bowl, beat the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form. Spread the whipped topping evenly over the cake.

    Add Spooky Drizzle and Decorations:
Drizzle red gel icing over the whipped topping for a “bloody” effect.
Garnish with maraschino cherries or top with edible vampire fangs for an extra eerie touch.

    Serve:
Slice the cake and enjoy your Cherry Vanilla Vampire Poke Cake—perfect for Halloween parties!
